Should you be accepted to Winterweek, will you travel by public transport (bus, plane, train)? On the day of Winterweek, learners are required to arrive at the airport (Cape Town International) and Stellenbosch bus/train stations before 16h00. The Winterweek committee will fetch learners from the airport/station and on the last day of Winterweek drop them off again, free of charge. It is important to note, that learners should please arrive between 10h00 and 16h00 on Sunday, 30 June 2024, and not depart before 16h00 on Friday, 5 July 2024, if possible.

We would strongly advise against making travel arrangements before your place at Winterweek has been confirmed.

General Terms & Conditions

• I undertake to adhere to any and all rules as laid out by the Director of the Engineering Winterweek.
• I indemnify the organisers and the University unconditionally against any claim or charge resulting from any damages or injuries that may be incurred at the Engineering Winterweek.
• I acknowledge that the primary language of the Winterweek is English.
• I realise that the learners are admitted to the Engineering Winterweek according to the Engineering Faculty's admission formula. (This formula can be found under Prospective Students on the Faculty of Engineering's webpage, www.eng.sun.ac.za).
• I acknowledge that, if Stellenbosch University is not permitted to host Winterweek in a physical attendance capacity for whatever reason (country regulations, lockdowns etc.), indirect costs relating to flights and other travel arrangements, etc. CANNOT be claimed from the Engineering Faculty or Stellenbosch University by the prospective student/Winterweek applicant.

Refund Policy

• In the event that the Engineering Winterweek cannot take place on the above dates, attendees will be offered a full refund for all direct costs incurred for accommodation and participation in the Winterweek that was paid to Stellenbosch University.
• Should any cancellation, irrelevant of time period, be due to medical reasons, then upon receiving a medical certificate stating the reason for cancellation, the learner will receive a full refund. Should you suffer from an injury affecting mobility (for example, a broken leg) in the lead up to Winterweek, please contact the Director to discuss whether you will still be able to comfortably participate in Winterweek.
